Field
server is a sensor node which automatically, reasonably, and
easily monitors on-site field information and controls some equipment via a web
browser. Field server are compact monitoring robots which are
equipped with Sensor, computer and network functions.
So far, three generations of Field Servers have been
developed and are use in more than a dozen countries for collaborative and
educational applications such as a global sensor
network for Earth observation, food safety/IT-Agriculture, advanced sensor
technology in fields and image monitoring for urban areas.

Important Tool in Land Management
In the field of Agriculture, it is important to monitor
onsite field information about environment condition (such as temperature,
humidity, photosynthesis photon flux density etc) ,Growth states of crops
(obtained by the field/crops view) ,and Field operations (about sprinkling of
water, agricultural-chemicals spraying and so on).This information are very
useful for investigation of a production plan, Prediction of growth the amount
of harvest, and prevention of an agricultural calamity. Recently we consider
using such information for the traceability of a crop.
Field server is an automatic monitoring system, consist
of CPU (web browser) ,Ad converter, DA converter, Ethernet controller, high intensity LED lighting and sensors
such as air temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity, Solar radiation, soil
moisture, soil temperature, electrical conductivity,leaf wetness with image data of the site.These data are stored internet into a data-server infer-red sensor,CMOS/CCD camera.
So, when need
those data for land management we can collect it from the server.
